My Passion

I thrive in the spontaneous action and creativity that photography places in my life. Every moment is interesting and unique to remember. As the moment passes it can be remembered vividly in our heart and mind. After time memories fade. With a photograph you can be taken back to that very day of happiness. There is much to be written and said of the world, but even more should be photographed.

What is right in this moment... That's the question that I want to capture at everything I shoot so you can always remember.

My Work

I'm a lifestyle photographer specializing in wedding photography. I live in the Southeastern part of Michigan, and am located in Lake Orion, Michigan. I am available for local or destination events.

When I'm not taking photos, I'm spending time with my fiance, planning our wedding, or drumming. Think of my blog as a way to get inside what my everyday living is like. Community and connection is something I highly value and would love to see new people leaving comments or dropping me an email. I look forward to sharing my work with you!

Raindrops

Since the Tiger’s swept the Cubs this afternoon, it’s been thunderstorming. During a small break of rain and thunder I jumped outside to snap a few pictures. I’ve never thought of myself as a nature photographer, or whatever that means… However, with my new 70-200 f2.8 mounted on my 5D, the pictures happen easily. I love the macro/close up of raindrops on plants. This is my new background for my laptop.

Kristen & Jason Trash the Dress

Kristen and Jason are an awesome couple. We met last summer at Jason’s sister’s wedding and talked up some of our interests with photography. A few months later Kristen asked me to shoot their wedding, I was excited because they both are fun to be around. Then Kristen told me it was a destination wedding to Sanibel Island, Florida, I was even more excited! Kristen and Jason both enjoy creative pictures, so they were interested in a TTD (Trash the Dress) session. I later learned that Kristen’s parents encouraged her to trash her dress because it would be a great experience and memory.

Kristen, Jason, my fiance Megan, and I all had a blast shooting on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico. Megan and I were absolutely blessed and beyond thankful for the opportunity Kristen and Jason gave to have us as part of their wedding and trash the dress, thank you both! Thanks for the letting me experiment! Megan and I had a blast doing these and hope you enjoy seeing the finished product!

Celebration at the State Capitol

If you missed the Celebration at the State Capitol’s sneak peak post, check it out here. View the slideshow by clicking here. Thanks for Mike-E & AfroFlow for sharing a positive and uplifting message at Celebration at the State Capitol! Check out AfroFlow’s website and drop Mike-E a message of thanks for supporting the American Cancer Society! I talked to Mike-E and the other members of AfroFlow after the celebration and they are all down-to-earth guys with big hearts. I am looking forward to seeing these guys again live. They brought some serious energy to the celebration, if the legislator’s didn’t hear why we were outside relaying, then they did when Mike-E and AfroFlow came out. What a great way to get a message across then on the capitol steps! Thanks Mike-E & AfroFlow, see you guys hopefully again!

This is Alexa, she has been fighting melanoma for six years. Unfortunately, melanoma is genetic and will always be part of her life. I received an email from Alexa’s Mom, Nina after I posted the sneak peak. Nina shared some of her daughter’s story with me and I found out Alexa attends my high school alma mater, GO DRAGONS & keep fighting Alexa!

Celebration at the State Capitol {Sneak Peak}

Today I was part of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life Celebration at the Michigan State Capitol. I brought along my camera and snapped a few shots towards the closing of the day. Here’s 4 pictures from what the celebration brought today. I’ll post more in a few days! Check out AfroFlow for some positivity!

Each year, your American Cancer Society brings together volunteers from across the state to learn about the latest legislative issues affecting cancer patients and their families, and encourage state legislators to make cancer a number one priority.
